We’ve been receiving some great feedback on our Every Day Carry blog series and we’re very happy that many of you have found the blogs to be informative. We look forward to posting more EDC blogs written by our staff members, but we also want to share submissions sent in by our customers and Facebook & Twitter fans.
Thanks to T.H. for sending in the submission below:
This is a great blog, thanks for posting practical examples and explanations of everyday carry. It’s reassuring when you read the blog and there are items shown that you also carry and the consistency of 2 options of firearms based on the practicalities. My 2 options:
Springfield XD9 subcompact with the following holster options: Crossbreed IWB and Galco Stow-n-Go IWB. One of the nice things about the Crossbreed IWB is it also fits the larger XD9 should you want to carry it, but it’s an inch longer both in barrel and grip which starts to stretch the definition of ‘concealed’ on my 5′ 7″ frame, unless it’s winter and I’m in a heavy jacket. But mostly the weight is a bit much for an everyday/all day and it’s not as comfortable. In my experience, if it’s not comfortable/convenient then I’m distracted by it. S&W Airlite 38 Special is my more concealable option with the following holster options: Side Guard Tuck Clip IWB and Side Guard Quick Clip IWB.
I carry Hornady Critical Defense in both, but am now researching the Glaser and Liberty Ultra Defense thanks to the blog.
Top row: Springfield XD9 subcompact; Crossbreed IWB; Galco Stow-n-Go IWB.
Bottom row: S&W Airlite 38 Special; Side Guard Tuck Clip IWB; Side Guard Quick Clip IWB.
