Did you know that Colorado is home to more than 420,000 veterans? With Veteran’s Day just around the corner, we thought that the perfect RED Shirt beneficiary for the month of November would be Veteran’s Passport to Hope. VP2H is a wonderful Colorado-based charity that is working to help veterans from all branches of the military.
The primary mission of Veteran’s Passport to Hope is to raise awareness within the Colorado area about the issues veterans face. Multiple tours in combat zones, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), high unemployment rate, high homelessness rate, high divorce rate, and a record high suicide rate. Awareness will help foster an understanding of their efforts and compassion for their struggle.
The second part of their mission is to support Colorado-based veteran-friendly non-profits. VP2H only supports high quality charities that maximize their accountability to veteran’s causes and are transparent in their fund raising and giving practices.
Lastly, they help to bring Colorado veteran-friendly non-profits together in order to be less competitive, and to more effectively and efficiently help veterans. VP2H has also consolidated information about resources that are available at no charge to veterans and families on their Veteran’s Resource Portal. In addition to that, they created a downloadable booklet with a lot of useful contacts and resources for veterans: 2013 Colorado Resource Guide for Veterans.
Veteran’s Passport to Hope is doing a great job of supporting our veterans, so we want to do our part by donating the proceeds from the sale of RED shirts during the month of November to VP2H. If you don’t have a RED shirt yet, we hope you will consider purchasing one for yourself or a friend to show your support for our troops and our veterans.
REMEMBER EVERYONE DEPLOYED!
